Will it fit your door?

A door prepared for a standard deadbolt: a 2⅛ in (54 mm) cross bore and a 1 in (25 mm) edge bore

On a door already prepared for a standard deadbolt, Venix installs in six steps. New doors need drilling, and the cutout drawing is in the box. Not sure? Send us photos of your door and we'll help.

Five quick checks before you order

  1. A door 1.38–2.17 in thick35–55 mm.
  2. A 2⅛ in cross bore and a 1 in edge bore54 mm and 25 mm: standard deadbolt prep. For a 1½ in (38 mm) hole, swap in the spare locator from the box.
  3. A 2⅜ or 2¾ in backset60 or 70 mm, from the door edge to the bore center. The deadbolt adjusts to either.
  4. 2.4 GHz Wi-FiRemote features and the 720p video doorbell need Venix set up in the Tuya Smart app on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

What happens if the battery runs out?

The USB-C port on the bottom edge supplies emergency power: connect power, then unlock with a supported method, or use the mechanical key. Emergency power is not a way to unlock by itself.

Does the visitor see me?

No. Your visitor hears you through Venix; Venix has no screen. You see them on a 720p live video call in the Tuya Smart app, with two-way audio.

Will it fit my door?

Venix fits doors 35–55 mm thick with a 60 or 70 mm backset. Existing compatible preparation can be reused; fresh installations need drilling. A separate passage or latch handle is required and not included.

Does Venix lock automatically?

Only if you want it to. You can turn automatic relocking on or off and set a delay of 5–99 seconds after unlocking. It runs on a timer and doesn't detect whether the door is closed. Venix retracts the deadbolt when you authenticate; you open the door with the separate handle, which is not included.

Can I let people in remotely?

Yes. Venix uses the Tuya Smart app, and you can unlock it remotely from there. Remote unlocking and the live video call need Venix set up in the app on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and your phone online.

How many face and palm profiles can I add?

Venix stores 50 biometric profiles in total, shared between face and palm vein.

Can I give visitors a temporary PIN?

Yes. Set up a temporary PIN for them in the Tuya Smart app. Permanent and temporary PINs share 50 places, and each PIN is 6–10 digits long.

Is cloud recording included?

Cloud recording isn't included. Check the Tuya Smart app for current UK cloud storage options and any charges.

Does it work with HomeKit, Matter, fingerprint or NFC?

Venix does not support Apple HomeKit, Matter, fingerprint, RFID or NFC unlocking. Alexa and Google Assistant operation in the UK has not been verified; contact us if voice control is essential.
